Man Dies After Being Struck By Pickup Truck In Patchogue
A 33-year-old man was attempting to cross Main Street Tuesday afternoon when he was struck by a pickup truck, police say.

PATCHOGUE, NY – A 33-year-old man died after being struck by a pickup truck in Patchogue Tuesday afternoon, police said.
According to Suffolk Police, Daniel Ruiz-Canales, of Patchogue, was crossing Main Street when he was struck by a westbound 2005 GMC Sierra that was attempting to make a right turn onto North Ocean Avenue at about 1:20 p.m.
Ruiz-Canales was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the GMC, a 56-year-old old East Patchogue man, was not injured.

The pickup truck was impounded for a safety check. No criminal charges have been filed. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
