UPDATE: Police ID Man Killed In Crash On Sunrise Highway Ramp

The man lost control of his car on a highway entrance ramp Tuesday morning, police say.

UPDATE: Police have identified the man killed as 57-year-old Stanley Gravatt Jr., of Patchogue.

EAST PATCHOGUE, NY – A 57-year-old man was killed in a single-car crash on a Sunrise Highway entrance ramp Tuesday morning, Suffolk Police said.

According to police, the man, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next to kin, was driving a 2013 Chevrolet on the entrance ramp to eastbound Sunrise Highway at Exit 54 in East Patchogue when he lost control of the vehicle and it overturned at 8:25 a.m.

The man was transported by Patchogue Ambulance to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center, just yards away from the crash scene, where he was pronounced dead.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information about the crash to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
