Man Seriously Hurt And Airlifted To Hospital After Crane Falls On Him At Boat Yard In Patchogue: Police

Fifth Squad detectives are investigating, Suffolk police say.

PATCHOGUE, NY — A 31-year-old man, who was preparing a crane for shipment in a Patchogue boat yard, was seriously hurt and airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital on Monday morning, Suffolk police said.

First responders were called to the River Avenue location just before 9 a.m., when a piece of the crane fell on the man, according to police.

He was airlifted for treatment of serious injuries, police said.

Detectives from the 5th Squad in Patchogue are investigating, according to police.
