MS-13 Threatening To 'Hit' LI Police: Report
MS-13 gang members are targeting police in specific Long Island towns to amp their street cred, report says.

PATCHOGUE, NY — Brutal MS-13 gang members are looking to "hit" police officers from Long Island, according to a new report.
According to an article in the NY Post, the NYPD received information that the deadly MS-13 street gang was looking to target LI police in communities including Brentwood, Central Islip and possibly Patchogue to amp their street cred.
The article also said that a memo was released Tuesday from the 105th Precinct, "warning officers that the department has received 'threats against [members of service]'" and that "intel has been obtained that members of MS13 are looking to ‘hit’ NYPD police officers, specifically in the Brentwood/Central Islip area, as well as possibly Patchogue," with the members conducting "reconnaissance" of the private homes of officers.

The report said that the memo warned police to be cognizant, alert, to change their routines and watch out for strange routines or unusual activity.
"The Suffolk County Police Department is in continuous contact with all of our public safety partners, including the New York City Police Department, and we will continue to work together to address any threats made to law enforcement personnel," SCPD told Patch.

It's not the first time police have been threatened by the blood-thirsty gang: In April, 2018, police said MS-13 issued a deadly threat — stating that it was time to "take back streets . . .and take out a cop."
The Nassau County Police Department issued an intelligence bulletin at that time about a possible threat to law enforcement and the Hempstead Police Department reported receiving information from a credible informant, stating that MS-13 was "looking to shoot a cop in the Hempstead area."
The gruesome discovery in a Central Islip Park in 2017 of four young men believed to have been murdered by MS-13 members has brought an international spotlight to Suffolk County, with elected officials and law enforcement vowing to fight back against the deadly gang.
President Donald Trump spoke in Brentwood in 2017 about the insidious MS-13 gang that's been terrorizing local communities across Long Island.
And in his speech, he promised to rid the gang-ravaged communities of Long Island of the "animals" on their streets. MS-13, Trump said, are brutally violent. "They don't like shooting people because it's too quick, it's too fast," he said. Instead, they "knife them, cut them, let them die slowly because it's more painful. These guys are animals."
MS-13 beats with victims with clubs, slashes them with knives and machetes, and are known for their brutality, Trump said. "They have transformed peaceful parks and beautiful, quiet neighborhoods into blood-stained killing fields. They're animals."
