The Music Of Simon Barsinister Lives On!

During the late 1980’s, when Long Island still had a live and vibrant music scene, and after the dissolving of the Lab Rats, Winslow James set out to establish a new band, called Simon Barsinister. The original intent for this band was to assemble an all-girl Rock & Roll band, faithful to Rock’s Blues heritage, with frontman, Winslow James as lead vocalist, and lead guitarist. As this concept proved to be more difficult to execute than planned, Rich Naso was brought in to assist with music development and to join as Lead guitarist. Still pursuing an girl-band element, seeking both a female drummer and bass player, this concept would never make it past the audition stage. In 1988, after abandoning the girl-band concept altogether, Simon Barsinister began rehearsals with John Wisloh on drums, Michael Vitale on bass guitar and backup vocals, Rich Naso on lead guitar and backup vocals, and Winslow James on lead vocals and guitar. Now, due to popular demand, after more than 25 years out of print, Poverty Level Music is rereleasing the complete recordings of Simon Barsinister. The LISTEN GOOD album, containing Simon Barsinister’s earlier recordings (1989), and LOVE (1990), containing the later, are now available on CD, as well as MP3 and iTunes download. Relive the days when original Rock & Roll bands were playing live in clubs all over the Island.
