A CLT is a nonprofit that retains ownership of land and sells or rents the housing on that land to lower-income households. Because the CLT owns the land, it can dictate the conditions of development and provide support services, ensuring what is built is truly affordable for the community in which it is based and that homes retain their affordability over time.

The CLT program will address several challenges to affordability on Long Island. It will create permanently affordable housing. Rehabilitated properties will be built with environmentally sound housing design and materials.

WHO: Representatives from Citi Community Development, Long Island Housing Partnership, the Village of Patchogue, Suffolk County and the Town of Brookhaven will be present to participate in the ceremonies.

WHEN: November 15, 2016; 11:00 a.m.
