According to Lidl, all team members who worked at Best Market were offered job opportunities at Lidl with a leading wage and benefits package. The packages include a starting wage of $15 an hour and comprehensive medical benefits for all team members regardless of the number of hours they work per week.
"Focus East Patchogue welcomes LIDL and appreciates the investment they are making to create a new store and to establish themselves as a quality food source for our community," John Quatrale, Focus East Patchogue said. "In addition we were glad to review a study that showed that LIDL has had the overall effect of reducing food prices on Long Island which is critical to the day to day needs of our community. We recognize the critical need for business to exist and thrive as a means of revitalizing East Patchogue and look forward to their success as a member of the community."
Over the next month, Lidl will also start remodeling two Best Market stores on Long Island, Franklin Square and Massapequa, for the next wave of Lidl store openings early next year.
