The softball field at in Patchogue Village is now officially named "Perry Field" after the late Sam Perry and his son, Sam Perry Jr.

The dedication took place before the , which Perry Jr. is the chairman.

According to a release sent by Patchogue Village officials, Perry, Sr. was the first to manage youth baseball in Patchogue, coaching the Patchogue Maple Leafs. Perry Jr is presently the Supervisor of the Town of Brookhaven's Senior Softball League and has been since 1995.
