Oscar Best Picture Contender 'Belfast' To Screen In Patchogue

The Plaza MAC Cinema and Media Arts Center will play the film on Wednesday in celebration of St. Patrick's Day.

PATCHOGUE, NY — The Oscar-nominated film "Belfast" will be screened at the Plaza MAC Cinema and Media Arts Center in Patchogue on Wednesday in honor of St. Patrick's Day this week.

The critically-acclaimed film tells the story of a family living in Belfast in the early days of the conflict in Northern Ireland. It stars "Outlander" actress Caitríona Balfe, as well as "A Private War's" Jamie Dornan, Dame Judi Dench, "M" in the James Bond series, "Game of Thrones'" Ciarán Hinds, and Jude Hill, who makes his big screen debut in the film.

The film won theOutstanding British Film Award at the British Academy Film and Television Awards on Sunday, Independent.ie reported.

The screening will begin at 7 p.m. For tickets, click here.

The film has received the most nominations for the Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, Best Sound, and Director, as well as Supporting Actor and Actress for Hinds and Dench, respectively. The awards show airs on March 27.
