Our Adventures In Wonderland

Our Adventures in Wonderland is an original take on Lewis Carroll's classic tale Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

I just returned from a wonderful afternoon in East Hampton where I had the pleasure to attend the matinee viewing of Our Adventures in Wonderland at the John Drew Theater at Guild Hall (a quaint theater with great energy).

Our Fabulous Variety Show’s (http://ourfabulousvarietyshow.org/) production of Our Adventures in Wonderland was the brainchild of two extremely talented individuals; Anita Boyer and Kasia Klimiuk. Anita and Kasia (aka Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum) not only created the script, but also produced, directed, and had substantial roles in the production.

Our Adventures in Wonderland is an original take on Lewis Carroll’s classic tale Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Nothing could be more apropos to celebrate the 150th anniversary of this magical Wonderland than to attend a viewing of this no-nonsense spin-off of one of the great works of literary nonsense; there’s plenty of nonsense during the show that will have you chuckling.

From the moment you arrive at the bottom of the rabbit hole, the cast does an amazing job of presenting the lackluster of once beautiful and colorful Wonderland; which is no easy feat given the minimal but appropriate props used in the show. While Wonderland itself may be suffering from a degradation of imagination, the show itself is not. Anita and Kasia, with their assistants, have arranged the music, lighting, and choreography to perfectly emote the sentiments; thus, leaving the audience fully enthralled, but none of this would be possible without the skillful artistry of the cast.

I can’t say enough about the cast and their acting, singing, and dancing abilities. Many of the OFVS dancers trained at Royalenova Performing Arts and Dance Hampton Dance Studio. If you have the chance, you should go and see this wonderful production; then take a walk around the beautiful town of East Hampton.

Remaining shows are: September 25 at 7:30, September 26 at 7:30, September 27 at 2pm. Prices range from $15-55! You can purchase tickets at https://web.ovationtix.com/trs/cal/34534 or get more information at http://ourfabulousvarietyshow.org/.
