It was hosted by the Brookhaven Town Youth Bureau's INTERFACE Program and JVC Broadcasting at Compare Foods.

PATCHOGUE, NY — Volunteers from Brookhaven Town Youth Bureau's INTERFACE Program and JVC Broadcasting collected 12,008 pounds of food at a recent drive at Compare Foods in Patchogue, providing holiday meals for 1264 needy families, officials said.
The INTERFACE Program is a partnership between good neighbors, local businesses, and the town, "united in a common effort" to help less fortunate residents all year round, according to officials.
Altogether, volunteers from All Suffolk Car Clubs, as well as three different schools, including, P.J. Gelinas Junior High School in East Setauket, and Sachem North and Sachem East high schools, helped collect food and grocery gift card donations.

Supervisor Romaine noted that there are many families in the township who "are struggling to put food on the table every day," but the collection drive will be able to help them this holiday season.
"The youth bureau’s food drive help these families enjoy a real Thanksgiving meal with their loved ones and it also reminds us about the true meaning of the holiday season," he added.
