Passenger Killed In North Patchogue Crash: Police

An East Patchogue resident was pronounced dead at a hospital after the Thursday night crash, police said.

bbNORTH PATCHOGUE, NY — A man was killed and two drivers were injured in a two-vehicle crash in North Patchogue on Thursday night, Suffolk County police said.

Meredith Hill, 79, of East Patchogue, was driving south on Waverly Avenue and attempted to turn left to head east onto Buckley Road when she collided with a 2016 Dodge Ram traveling north on Waverly Avenue around 10:10 p.m., police said.

Hill was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

A passenger in the vehicle, Hilton Spokony, 45, of East Patchogue, was taken to NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk in Patchogue, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver of the Dodge, Michael Aulivola, 55, of Holtsville, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks, police said.
