PATCHOGUE, NY — A local Patchogue business recently closed down after 73 years in business. Last week, David's Shoe Emporium on 66 E Main Street announced in a post on Facebook that it was officially closing its doors on July 3.

"Our time in Patchogue is coming to an end," the post read. "Through good and bad it has always been an honor to serve this community for the last 73 years."

Following the closure, Brookhaven Town Supervisor Ed Romaine and Councilman Neil Foley stopped by the business to recognize the owner, David Zegel, as he got ready to close the store.
