Patchogue Crash Critically Injures Pedestrian: Police

The person had been trying to cross Medford Avenue when they were struck, Suffolk police said.

PATCHOGUE, NY — A crash critically injured a pedestrian in Patchogue on Tuesday, Suffolk police said.

Justo Naranjo, 54, of Patchogue, was trying to cross Medford Avenue when he was struck by a 2012 Nissan driven by John Conway 62, of Holtsville, at about 5:40 p.m., police said, adding that he was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore “in critical condition.”

Conway was given a summons for driving with a revoked license and his Nissan was impounded for "a safety check," police said. Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call the 5th Squad at 631-854-8552.
