Patchogue Distillery Hosted Its First Ever Gourmet Food Market

The Smorgasberg-like event attracted dozens of vendors and hundreds of attendees recently.

The distillery on River Avenue hosted the event on Feb. 29 as a test run for a larger market and event coordinators are hoping to put on regularly over the summer.

PATCHOGUE, NY — A local Patchogue distillery recently hosted its first ever gourmet food market. The first market was held at the business on 161 River Avenue on February 29. The vendors included a variety of specialty food producers. According to Abby Gruppuso, Head of Operations for The Better Man Distilling Co., the market was meant to be a successful test run for a larger market and event coordinators are hoping to put on regularly over the summer.

"Think Smorgasberg, but Long Island, and different from a farmer's market in that all of the vendors will be serving food to enjoy at the event and food to bring home," she said.

Guests were able to enjoy food and drinks from dozens of vendors on picnic tables set up outside surrounding a fire pit.
