Patchogue Firefighters Save Kitten While Battling Blaze

Fire broke out at a home on River Avenue on Saturday evening.

On Saturday April 11 at around 5:30 p.m. the Patchogue Fire Department was called to a house on River Avenue for a report of a house fire.

Additional help was requested to the scene from the Bayport and North Patchogue fire departments. On arrival firefighters observed heavy fire in the two-story home and immediately went to work battling the blaze. While battling the blaze, firefighters discovered a kitten that was in distress.

Emergency workers began to resuscitate the pet and were successful. The home was heavily damaged by the fire but no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
