Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle In Suffolk

It was one of two crashes locally Wednesday morning that snarled traffic.

EAST PATCHOGUE, NY — A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in East Patchogue in one of two crashes that kept local first responders busy on Wednesday morning and snarled traffic, Suffolk police said.

Police received a 911 call that the pedestrian was struck in front of a home on North Dunton Avenue just after 7 a.m., police said, adding that the person sustained minor injuries.

An ambulance was notified, but it is not clear if the person required treatment at a local hospital.

Police responded to a two-car crash at the intersection of Station Road and Atlantic Avenue in North Bellport around a half hour later at 7:30 a.m. Minor injuries were reported, police said.
