Police ID Woman Killed, Daughter Injured in House Fire

Five fire departments responded to the scene Friday morning.

NORTH PATCHOGUE, NY – A 65-year-old woman was killed and her daughter was injured after a house fire broke out in North Patchogue Friday morning.

Fifth Precinct officers responded to 72 Ohls St. at about 9:45 a.m. after a 911 caller reported a fire at the home, Suffolk Police said.

Elisa Doughty, 65, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her daughter, 34-year-old Kristle Doughty, also a resident of the home, was transported by a North Patchogue Fire Department ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital with burns to her arm.

The North Patchogue, Hagerman, Blue Point, Patchogue and Medford fire departments responded to extinguish the fire.

Following a preliminary investigation, detectives believe the fire to be non-criminal in nature, police said.
