Police: Man Fires Gun During Patchogue Robbery

Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in Patchogue early Sunday morning.

According to police, a man was walking west on Division Street in front of Bowl Long Island at Patchogue when a man approached him and his friends at about 12:35 a.m.

The robber told the man to empty his pockets and put everything on the ground, police said. The robber picked up a cellphone from the ground and then fired one round from a shotgun into the trees before fleeing, police said.

No one was injured during the robbery. No arrests have been made. Police did not provide a description of the robber.
