Police: Medford Man Charged in Patchogue Business Window Smash

Numerous Crime Stoppers tips came in to police after they released surveillance footage of incident last week.

The man caught on camera kicking in the window of a Patchogue business, causing about $400 worth of damage, last week has been arrested, police said.

Sean Donovan, 28, of Medford, was arrested on Saturday, police said.

Police say Donovan was walking on West Main Street on Feb. 8 at approximately 1:30 a.m. when he kicked the front window of Swag City, located at 2 W. Main Street, causing it to break. Following the release of surveillance photos to the media, numerous Crime Stoppers tips were received about the suspect, police said.

Fifth Precinct Crime Section Officer John McGay observed Donovan in a vehicle on North Ocean Avenue in Patchogue on Saturday and arrested him at 6:55 p.m., police said.

Donovan is charged with third degree criminal mischief. He was held overnight at the Fifth Precinct for arraignment Sunday at First District Court in Central Islip.
