Police Officer, N. Patchogue Fire Department Help Deliver Baby Boy
The special delivery was made Tuesday evening in North Patchogue.

A Suffolk County Police officer, along with North Patchogue Fire Department personnel, assisted a woman deliver a baby boy in North Patchogue on Tuesday evening.
Fifth Precinct Patrol Officer Michael Coyne responded to a call of a 30-year-old woman in labor on Ellsworth Avenue at 6:35 p.m., police said.
When Officer Coyne arrived, Basicilia Chanchavac of Ellsworth Avenue, was laying in the backseat of her 2006 Nissan SUV that was parked outside of her home.

Chanchavac’s water had broken and she was in active labor. Officer Coyne aided Chanchavac until the North Patchogue Fire Department arrived and delivered a healthy baby boy, Jayden Christopher Chanchavac, at 6:48 p.m.
Chanchavac, 30, and Jayden were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital.
