Police Seek Help to ID Man Found Dead in E. Patchogue

The man's body was found inside a tent last week. Cause of death has been ruled non-criminal.

Police are seeking the public’s help to confirm the identity of a man whose body was found in a wooded area in East Patchogue last week.

Police say the man’s body was found in a beige Kelty tent in a wooded area northeast of Swan Lake Drive and Franklin Street on July 30.

The man, whose cause of death has been ruled non-criminal, was white, about 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-6, with a thin build. The man was believed to be between 45 and 60-years-old.

The man was living in the location for at least a year and was frequently seen in the area riding a bicycle and often wore a red bandana, police said.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the identity of the man to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392.
