Police are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate a man who robbed a Suffolk County gas station and tried to rob another last week.
According to police, the man entered the Valero station located at 1164 Montauk Highway in East Patchogue around 9 p.m. on Feb. 4, displayed a handgun and demanded cash. The clerk did not comply and the man fled without proceeds.

A short time later, detectives believe the same man entered OK Petroleum, located at 2549 Montauk Highway in Brookhaven, displayed a handgun and demanded cash. The clerk complied and the suspect fled.
