Police: Woman Walking in E. Patchogue Attacked, Robbed

A woman was treated at the hospital after being attacked and robbed in East Patchogue Tuesday night, police said.

According to police, the woman was walking on E. Lakewood Street at about 9 p.m. when she was approached by a man who grabbed her from behind.

The man threw her down and stole her purse, which contained her wallet, cash, credit cards and medication, police said. She was transported by a private vehicle to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital, police said.

The woman was not able to describe her attacker since the man approached her from behind, police said. No arrests have been made.
