'Queen Of One-Liners' Rita Rudner To Play Long Island

The title-holder of the longest-running, one-person comedy show in Las Vegas and best-selling author will appear in Patchogue on Saturday.

PATCHOGUE, NY — Comedian Rita Rudner — dubbed 'the Queen of the one-liners' — will play the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts on Saturday.

The show will start at 8 p.m. and tickets run $31 to $71.

Rudner holds the title for the longest-running, one-person comedy show in Las Vegas. She is the author of the best-selling “I Still Have It…I Just Can’t Remember Where I Put It: Confessions of a Fiftysomething,” “Naked Beneath My Clothes,” as well as the novels “Tickled Pink,” and “Turning The Tables.”

She has starred in seven HBO comedy specials, as well as specials on PBS and “Rita Rudner and Three Potential Ex-Husbands" on Showtime. She performed for President Barack Obama at Caesar's Palace along with Bette Midler and Sheryl Crow in 2009.

"She may speak softly, but she carries a big wit," theatre officials said in a promo on the theatre's website, adding that she is "a house-filling favorite in Las Vegas" who delivers her stand-up with a wide-eyed sweetness, as well as "acid observations."
