Sayville Man Seriously Hurt in Motorcycle Crash

Duane Thibodeau's motorcycle struck the back of a school bus Friday morning, police say.

A Sayville man was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was riding slammed into the rear of a school bus on Sunrise Highway in East Islip Friday morning, police said.

According to police Duane Thibodeau, 47, was riding a 2007 Harley Davidson westbound on Sunrise Highway, near exit 45, at 9:23 a.m. when the motorcycle struck the bus.

Thibodeau was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of his injuries, police said. The two adults on the bus were not injured.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact Third Squad Detectives at 631-854-8352.
