🌱 Stabbing Suspect + Suffolk County Adopt With A Cop Campaign

First, today's weather:

Here are the top three stories in Patchogue today:

  1. The Suffolk County Police Department is searching for a man that allegedly stabbed another man at JDS's Tailgaters Sports Bar in nearby Holbrook. The incident occurred during an altercation on Saturday, May 28. Anyone with information leading to an arrest might be eligible for a cash reward. Contact the Suffolk County Crime Stoppers to provide an anonymous tip. (Daily Voice)
  2. The Suffolk County Police Department is hosting its first "Adopt with a Cop" campaign. The department will be promoting shelter adoptions using its far-reaching social media accounts. The department will be working with the Smithtown Animal Shelter, located about 20 minutes away from Patchogue, during the campaign. (Patch)
  3. Suffolk County is leading the state of New York in using "red flag warnings" to prevent gun violence. The Suffolk County Police Department has been the most effective at using the state's law to seize guns from individuals that the court system deems unfit to own a firearm. The county is using the "red flag warning" law more than five times as much as similarly populated counties. (ABC7 News)
