Serious Crash Closes Portion of Sunrise Highway in Both Directions
A man was airlifted to the hospital following crash Wednesday morning.

YAPHANK, NY – Sunrise Highway was closed in both directions at Exit 57 following a serious crash Wednesday morning.
According to police, a man was driving east on Sunrise Highway when his car crossed the median, went into the westbound lanes and then struck a pole at the Horseblock Road exit in Yaphank at about 10:50 a.m.
The man was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital via a Suffolk Police helicopter. The extent of his injuries is currently unknown.
