Students Sent Home After Fire Breaks Out At High School: Report
The fire was reported on Monday morning.

MEDFORD, NY - Students at Patchogue-Medford High School were sent home early after a fire was reported in the building Monday morning.
According to the Long Island Advance, the district reached out to parents via robocall to inform them that the fire was reported near the cafeteria after a heater motor "fried" in the ventilation system. All students were then reportedly sent home for the day.

A message on the Patchogue-Medford School District website stated that all afternoon and evening activities at the high school have been canceled.
The Medford Fire Department responded to the scene. The Town of Brookhaven fire marshal is currently investigating.
