Suffolk Police Investigating Mastic Beach Beating
The person was beaten and left bleeding by two male suspects who displayed what appeared to be a pistol and they robbed him, police said.
MASTIC BEACH, NY — Suffolk police are investigating a robbery in which someone was beaten at a home in Mastic Beach on Jan. 16.
Two males displaying what appeared to be a pistol approached someone inside of a Forest Road home, punched them and took a backpack, cellphone, and a wallet containing a debit card and cash just before 8 a.m. before fleeing, police said.
The victim walked to a Mastic laundromat to call for help, according to police.

The person was injured and left bleeding from the beating, and was taken to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue for treatment, police said.
The incident has been classified police as a first-degree robbery.
