Suffolk Sheriff To Hold Open House, Family Day At Yaphank Jail

YAPHANK, NY — The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office is hosting its annual Open House and Family Day at the Yaphank Correctional Facility on Oct. 3.

The free event will include activities for all age groups, interactive exhibits, jail tours, scavenger hunts, giveaways, and deejay music. Parents will be able to get child identification cards, and there will be sheriff’s girl scout patches available also. The event will also include sports clinics and opportunities to achieve boy scout badges.

There will also be food trucks like Vincent's NY Wood Fired Pizza, Island Empanada, and Mr. Softee.
