Swezey's Fully Coming Down On Sept. 12

The vacant Swezey's Department Store in Patchogue Village at the Four Corners intersection of Main Street and North Ocean Avenue will be fully demolished to make way for the New Village project on Sept. 12, Patchogue Village Mayor Paul Pontieri tells Patch.

Demolition on the store earlier this summer to make way for Tritec Real Estate company's plan to bring 291 apartments, 46,000 square feet of retail space and 18,000 square feet of office space at the intersection.

Currently the side of the building facing Main Street is still standing, but as announced not for much longer.

Pontieri said that the demolition is expected to start between 6:30 a.m.-7 a.m. that morning.
