Town Animal Shelter Seeking Homes For Dogs During Coronavirus
While the shelter is currently closed to the public, they are still seeking fosters or adopters for their dogs during the pandemic.

TOWN OF BROOKHAVEN, NY — Looking for a furry quarantine buddy? While the Town of Brookhaven Animal Shelter and Adoption Center is currently closed to the public due to the coronavirus pandemic, they are still looking for people to either foster or adopt their medium to large mixed breed dogs. While many dogs in the shelter, located on 300 Horseblock Road in Brookhaven, have already found either temporary or forever homes, there are more available.
There are many different types of dogs available including ones that require a single pet household and others who get along well with other dogs. There are also dogs with some behavioral issues such as anxiety, guarding of food, toys or space, stranger reactivity, or some barrier reactivity who need a very specific type of home.
If interested, complete the Brookhaven Animal Shelter’s online “Matchmaker” application at BrookhavenNY.gov and a member of the animal shelter staff will be in touch with you. All potential fosters/adopters will be required to make an appointment to visit the shelter for a meet and greet along with any other members and/or dogs that live in the household.
