Woman Dies After Car Is Struck, Flips Over On Veterans Highway
She was taken to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore where she was pronounced dead, Suffolk police said.
ISLANDIA, NY — A woman was killed when the car was riding in was hit and then flipped over in Suffolk County on Friday night, Suffolk police said.
The driver of a 2001 Chevrolet Impala was traveling northwest on Veterans Memorial Highway and then made a left turn on Suffolk Avenue, when the vehicle was struck by a 2015 Audi A4, which was traveling southeast, just after 7 p.m., police said, adding that the Impala "overturned, landing right side up."
In the front seat of the Impala was a woman, who has not yet been identified by police, and she was taken by Central Islip-Hauppauge Volunteer Ambulance to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The Impala's driver was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, said police, adding that the Audi's driver and a female passenger, were taken to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of minor injuries.
