2,000 O&R Customers Still Without Power Monday: Update
Most of the more than 20,000 who lost power have had it restored, O&R said.

PEARL RIVER, NY — O&R is working to restore power to the 1,800 customers left without electricity in its New York coverage area, along with another 285 in New Jersey. Most of the outages are in the mid-Hudson; most are west of Middletown.
A nor'easter with heavy rains and high winds rocked the region overnight Sunday and left high winds most of the day Monday. As power companies worked on outages from overnight, more came in.
It knocked out power to 23,000 customers. O&R company and contractor crews began working yesterday afternoon, and continued through last night and all day today to restore electric service to 20,000 customers whose power was knocked out by the severe storms and wind that began yesterday.

The biggest cluster of outages, in western Orange County, were still affected more than 800 people in various neighborhoods along the Route 17 corridor at 6 p.m.
Thirty outages in central Rockland affected 277 people. Another nine outages in southeastern Rockland affected almost 200 people.
