3-Car Crash; 1 Arrested In Pearl River
Police said the occupants of all the cars were able to get out safely with the assistance of passing motorists.
PEARL RIVER, NY — A three-vehicle crash in Pearl River Sunday resulted in two of the cars bursting into flames. Orangetown police said the accident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday on Veterans Memorial Drive in the vicinity of the Blue Hill Plaza in the Hamlet of Pearl River.
Upon arrival officers found all three of the cars with heavy damage and two of the vehicles engulfed in flames.
Police said the occupants of all the cars were able to get out safely with the assistance of passing motorists.

The fires were extinguished by the Pearl River Fire Department.
The driver and passenger of one of the cars were taken to Nyack Hospital with serious physical injuries.

Another car's diver and passenger were cleared medically at the scene.
Tiffany R. O'Connor, 34, of Blauvelt, the driver of the third car, was found to be driving in an intoxicated condition, police said.
She was arrested and taken to the Orangetown Police Headquarters. Police said she refused to take a chemical breath test.
O'Connor was charged with second-degree vehicular assault, a felony, and driving while intoxicated, first offense, a misdemeanor.
She was released on bail and is due in Orangetown Justice Court Oct. 2.
