Five Pearl River High School art students are entered in the 2015 Congressional Arts Competition.
The Art Department selected the works of students Mary Galanek (senior), Jillian Beckerle (senior), Katelyn Dowd (senior), Patrick Beckerle (junior) and Isabelle Narciso (senior).

Congresswoman Nita M. Lowey will select one entry from her constituent high schools to represent the 17th District. The chosen piece will ultimately be displayed at the U.S. Capitol building.
Lowey’s 2015 Congressional Arts Competition Reception will be held at the Nanuet Public Library at 149 Church St. from 6-7 p.m. April 27. Lowey will announce the winning selection then.

In other news from the Art Department, Alexandra Leonard had her photograph selected as a finalist in the 2015 Nikon/Photographer’s Forum College & High School Photography Contest. Her work will be published in the 2015 edition book, Best of College and High School Photography.
