500 O&R Customers Lost Power In Overnight Thunderstorms
Most had electricity restored by 6 a.m.

PEARL RIVER, NY — A band of severe thunderstorms that swept through the area Wednesday night and into the early hours of Thursday, knocked out power to about 500 Orange & Rockland customers.
About 460 of those customers were restored to service overnight.
Of the 40 customers remaining out of service at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, 25 were in Bergen County, 14 were in Rockland County and one was in Sullivan County. O&R crews are working to restore their service before the end of the day.

Rockland was more fortunate than Connecticut, where two tornadoes may have touched down.
