Annual Fishing Contest Beckons Young Fishermen

Pearl River Rotary Club Hosts Annual Fishing Contest on April 17th

The Rotary Club of Pearl River will hold the 32nd Annual Jake Amann Fishing Contest on Sunday, April 17th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Orangeburg. The free event is open to all children, ages 3 to 15, who must be accompanied by an adult.
Rotary stocks the fishing pond annually with tagged fish and awards trophies and prizes for special catches. Participants need to bring their own gear. Bait for the fish will be available for purchase, as well as refreshments for the humans.
In the event of rain, the contest moves to Sunday, April 24th. Check the Rotary Club’s website at www.rotaryclubofpearlriver.org for rain date plans.
