AOH Honors Seniors with St. Patrick's Day Brunch

Seniors were invited to the Division 3 Hibernian House for food, drinks, and live entertainment. AOH Pipe Band, Inishfree School of Irish Dance, and the Pearl River School of Irish Music performed.

Everyone was singing and clapping while enjoying a wonderful Irish meal on the top floor of the AOH Saturday afternoon.

Seniors were invited for an roster of Irish Step Dancing, Music, and Craic.

"I love it," said attendee Rose Dunn. "We're invited every year. I think it's fabulous the things they do for us."

Dunn and her friends were seated at a round table near the dance floor and could be heard singing all the way down to the AOH downstairs pub.

The Inishfree School of Irish Dance, back from their many shows this week, performed to the delight of everyone.

"They clapped up a storm," laughed Lauren Walsh.

The school had performed at the New Jersey Nets halftime show on St. Patrick's Day, but they insist they love coming to Pearl River.

"We feel like we're at home," explained Karen Cardentey.

Kaileen McGeever, a 6th grader, played the tin whistle for the Pearl River School of Irish Music.

"I love the Irish tunes," McGeever said. "We play a lot of jigs and polkas."

Fellow 6th-grader and student at the PR School of Irish Music Jade Keogh played the fiddle and the Irish flute.

"I like playing Irish music," Keogh said. "It's fun."

By the end of the brunch, it was hard to tell who was having more fun, the seniors or the performers.

Look out for the AOH Pipe Band, the Inishfree School of Irish Dance, and the Pearl River School of Music in the PR St. Paddy's Day parade this afternoon.
