Binghamton Freshman from Pearl River Falls to His Death

The death, which police are calling accidental, occurred at a frat party.

Conor Donnelly, of Pearl River, died Saturday in Vestal, New York after falling from a fourth-floor balcony while attending a frat party.

Conor Donnelly, a Binghamton University freshman, died accidentally March 18, while off campus, University President Harvey Stenger announced.

Alpha Sigma Phi, the fraternity to which Donnelly was pledging, hosted the party. He fell while trying to climb from a fourth-floor to a third-floor balcony, police said. Autopsy findings supported that Donnelly had been drinking. There were many students there and no reports of hazing, according to multiple news outlets.

It is always difficult to lose someone, Stenger said, but it is especially difficult to lose a young member of our campus community so suddenly.
