Andy K and Friends Charitable Foundation

The Andy K & Friends Charitable Foundation is a collaborative, community organization. It is a foundation of the people, by the people, for the people.

The Andy K began fourteen years ago as a golf outing to celebrate the life of Andrew J. Kavasansky. The funds from the first outing were donated to the New York Burn Center to help injured firemen. After that first outing in 1999, the Andy K became an Annual event with all funds raised going directly to community members in need. Today, the Andy K and Friends Foundation honors Andy K by assisting others who have experienced recent loss, illness, hardship, or adversity.

The Foundation is about everyone who has lost someone dear to them and how they managed to carry on with the help and support of those who cared deeply for them. The stories that the Andy K & Friends receive are sometimes unimaginable tragedies, but they are real and they come from people we know, like you, in our neighborhood, at work and in our families. Some are sudden and some are life threatening, but, all are life-altering.

Due to the generous support of the Friends of Andy K, the Foundation has helped many families and organizations. The people who volunteer and/or donate to Andy K continue to keep the spirit of giving and caring a huge priority in their lives. All those involved know all to well that the best way to get through tough times is to be able to look out and up for help. The Andy K offers others a bit of hope and support to get people back on their feet. Then as soon as they find a way to survive, they in turn find someone else who is hurting and they help them up. This trickle effect happens directly through volunteering, donating, or attending the Andy K Memorial.
