Celebrate Women's Health at Simon's The Shops at Nanuet with 'PAINT THE MALL PINK' Events

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and The Shops at Nanuet are marking the occasion with Paint the Mall Pink

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and The Shops at Nanuet and other Simon malls across the country are marking the occasion with Paint the Mall Pink, a community-based grassroots program featuring educational displays, health fairs, retailer offerings, special events and other activities that promote women’s health.

“As an integral part of the community, we want to be a resource for the health issues that affect women and their families,” said Briana Puncar, director of marketing and business development at The Shops at Nanuet. “We are honored to host a variety of ‘pink-themed’ activities during the month.”

On Saturday, October 18 from 12-3 p.m. The Shops at Nanuet, has planned a variety of Paint the Mall Pink activities, including the following:

  • Yoga on the Drive with lululemon at 12 noon
  • Pink Fashion Walk of Hope at 1 p.m. featuring breast cancer survivors from Nyack Hospital modeling the latest mall fashions from The Shops at Nanuet retailers: White House/Black Market, LOFT, The Limited, Chico’s, lululemon and Soma. Makeup for the models will be provided by Sephora and hair will be done by JLK Salon. Nyack Mayor Jennifer White will serve as emcee for the fashion show.
  • Zumba on the Drive with 24 Hour Fitness at 2 p.m.
  • Information booth offering healthcare information from Nyack Hospital and helpful tips from other health professionals
  • Food sampling, product demonstrations and prize giveaways
  • Free swag bags to the first 200 event attendees to register

The October 18 event is being held in conjunction with sponsor Nyack Hospital, in association with Tiara Jewelers and supporter’s lululemon and 24 Hour Fitness. Rain date is Sunday, October 19.

In addition, at the October 18 event and throughout the month of October, The Shops at Nanuet “Window of Hope” will be on display near Regal Cinemas where visitors will find information on supporting The Breast Cancer Center at Nyack Hospital. JLK Salon will also offer pink extensions that day and during the rest of October. Shoppers will notice a pink line along Fashion Drive and pink flowers throughout the center as well.
