Cyclists Must Go Single File In Orangetown

A new town law means that police can ticket cyclists bunched up on Route 9W, for example.

PEARL RIVER, NY — Rockland County is beloved of bicyclists out for excursions. Now officials in the town of Orangetown have decided to crack down on cyclists who don't ride single-file.

Orangetown has four villages (which set their own laws): Grand View-on-Hudson, Nyack, Piermont and South Nyack. They have been cyclist destinations for years, and have enacted laws about sharing the road.
