DePrisco Seeking Re-Election to Pearl River School Board

PEARL RIVER, NY — The Pearl River Board of Education announces one seat for election on the board, the seat currently held by Thomas DePrisco.

The term commences on July 1, 2017 and runs through June 30, 2020. Elections will be held May 16, together with the Annual School Budget Vote.

DePrisco has informed the board of his intention to seek re-election to the Board.

Qualified Board of Education candidates interested in running for the board must submit a nominating petition signed by 25 or more Pearl River School District qualified voters. District residents seeking to place a citizen-initiated petition on the May 16th ballot must submit a petition signed by 55 or more Pearl River School District qualified voters.

All petitions must be returned to the district clerk’s office by 5 PM on Monday, April 17.

Blank petitions are available in the district clerk’s office, which is located in the district administration building at 135 West Crooked Hill Road, Pearl River, and open between the hours of 10AM and 5PM.

In order to qualify for membership on the school board, a candidate must be a citizen of the United States, 18 years of age or older, able to read and write, must be a qualified voter in the district, must be and have been a district resident for at least one year prior to the election, may be the only members of his/her household on such school board, may not be an employee of the school district, may not simultaneously hold another, incompatible public office, and may not have been removed from a school district office within one year of the election.
