Drill Will Simulate Crude Oil Train Accident
First responders working with CSX will conduct a training exercise in Orangetown on Thursday.

CSX and local emergency agencies are conducting an exercise Thursday evening in Rockland County to help first responders be better prepared in the event of a rail incident involving a crude oil train.
The exercise will simulate an accident at a crossing between a vehicle and a train transporting crude oil.

The Town of Orangetown Police Department in conjunction with the Orangeburg Fire Department, the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office, the Rockland County Office of Fire & Emergency Services, South Orangetown Ambulance Corps, CSX Transportation and numerous other agencies will take part.
The exercise will take place from 6-9:30 p.m. July 23 near Orangetown Town Hall.
