DWI Charge For Central Valley Man: PD

Police said he refused to take a chemical breath test.

PEARL RIVER, NY — A Central Valley man was accused of drunken driving in the wake of a car crash. Orangetown police said York Wang, 28, of Central Valley, was charged with driving while intoxicated, first offense, a misdemeanor.

Police said they responded around 11:30 p.m. Sept 17 to a report of a single vehicle accident on State Route 304 in the vicinity of the Townline Road overpass in Pearl River.

When officers got there they found a 2016 BMW with extensive damage to the front end of the car.

An investigation found that Wang was operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition, according to the authorities.

He was arrested and taken to Orangetown Police Headquarters, where he refused to take a chemical breath test, police said.

Wang was released on bail and is due back in Orangetown Justice Court Oct. 1 to answer the charge.
