DWI, Drug Charges: Orangetown Police Blotter

Here are a few of the incidents to which Orangetown police responded in the past few days.

July 26: 5:01 AM, David Emmanuel, 25, from Nyack, NY was charged with Aggravated DWI (misdemeanor) and traffic violations after being stopped on South Franklin Street in Nyack for driving erratically and driving without headlights activated. Emmanuel failed field sobriety checks and was transported to Orangetown Police Headquarters where he submitted to a breath test. Mr. Emmanuel’s blood alcohol content was recorded at more than 3 times the legal limit. Emmanuel was released to a family member and is due in Nyack Court on August 18, 2015.

5:05 PM, Matthew J. Carter, 27, from Nanuet, NY was charged with Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 5th degree (misdemeanor). Carter was stopped on Townline Road in Pearl River for a traffic violation. A plastic bag containing approximately 27.4 grams of marihuana was found in the vehicle. Carter was released on $200 bail pending a court date in Orangetown on August 5, 2015.

July 27: 5:28 PM, an Orangetown officer responded to 206 Route 303 on a report of a disabled vehicle in the parking lot. The officer found Michael Maresca, 52 from Old Tappan, NJ operating a 2009 Mercedes Benz with a flat tire. Maresca was found to be in an intoxicated condition and he failed field sobriety checks. Maresca was taken to Orangetown Police Headquarters where he submitted to a breath test. Maresca’s blood alcohol content was recorded as more than 2 times the legal limit and he was charged with Aggravated DWI (misdemeanor). Maresca was released on $200 bail to a family member and is due in Orangetown Court on August 12, 2015.
