Earth Observatory's Annual Open House Will Be Virtual This Fall

Don't miss 4 days of interactive exhibits, tours of Lamont's awesome earth science labs, lectures, discussions, hands-on demonstrations.

ORANGETOWN, NY — Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, Columbia University’s world-renowned earth and climate science research institution, will hold its annual Open House virtually this year.

It celebrates the awesome power of earth science — from geology to meteorology to seismology — and gives you a chance for hands-on activities, amazing demonstrations, gripping exhibits and fascinating lectures in all the areas the observatory's scientists work.

Now it has been turned into a four-day online event, available to attendees around the world. It will include high-level lectures and panel discussions, along with hands-on demonstrations, interactive exhibits and tours of Lamont’s laboratories. It is aimed at all ages.
