ENGAGE Day of Service: Hunger in Our Community

Help us reach our goal of feeding hundreds!

Family-focused activities to benefit recipients of the Bronx Jewish Community Council. BJCC is a non-sectarian, community based, social service organization that is available to all low-income individuals in the Bronx. Serving 12,000 individuals each year, BJCC specializes in addressing senior needs, particularly those aging in place. BJCC’s offices house one of largest food pantries in the Bronx, with 2,700 individuals frequenting the pantry each month.

Food drive items needed: boxed milk and coffee creamer; canned fruits and vegetables; canned meat and fish; cereal, cookies, and crackers; coffee, teas, and hot chocolate; pasta, rice, and instant potatoes; ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise; soup and tomato sauce; vinegar, oil, and salad dressings; raisins, prunes, dried fruit and nuts.

Toiletries and paper goods needed: (These specific items are not available for purchase with food stamps and are always needed!) detergent, sponges, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, soap, paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, toothbrush, toothpaste, diapers, and Depends.
